Silmo Istanbul, a promising edition

The latest edition of the SILMO ISTANBUL exhibition was held on 10-13 December 2015. Taking place in the largest city in Turkey, at the crossroads
between Europe and the Balkans, Central Asia, the Near and Middle East and North Africa, the exhibition demonstrated its relevance to both the local and international optics and eyewear sector.

In Halls 9 and 10 of the Istanbul Expo Centre, SILMO ISTANBUL hosted 106 exhibitors in an 8,000m2 exhibition area, made up of manufacturers from the Turkish optics and eyewear industry and, at a wider level, companies from both Europe and Asia involved in every aspect of the sector: frames, lenses, contact lenses, materials, services, etc. It welcomed 8,970 visitors, compared with 7,945 at the last event, a rise of 12.9%. The exhibition brought together a large number of Turkish professionals, attracted by the interest in the event: 8,405 in attendance, up 11.3% on the 2014 total of 7,552. The number of international visitors rose sharply: up 43% (565 in 2015 vs. 393 in 2014).

The organisers of SILMO ISTANBUL (Silmo Association and Comexposium for France, 24 Saat Ajans, publisher for the past 12 years of the trade journal 4Eyes, for Turkey) are delighted by this surge in visitor numbers. They plan to continue promoting interest in this new trade fair on the international calendar of optics and eyewear events.

Save the date for 2016 - 8 to 11 December.
