Inspired by Düsseldorf’s people and
architecture DÜSSELDORF EYEWEAR designs spectacles in a modern retro look for young
people and those who are still young at heart since 2016. The reference to the
hometown is an elemental part of the corporate culture and mirrors itself
within the common start-up flair as well as in the versatile product world.
Thus all the label’s frames from the classic “Angermund” to the “Rheinufer” are
named after Düsseldorf’s districts, streets, places or sights. In doing so the
label does not consider one’s product as pure medical aid but as a fashionable
accessory and of course as expression of ones’s personality.
D'dorf - HimmelgeistDÜSSELDORF EYEWEAR
The model “Himmelgeist“ by DÜSSELDORF EYEWEAR mixes modern and smart design with stylish vintage vibes. While playing around with a ballpoint pen founder and designer Torsten Zehnpfennig got inspired by the inner tension spring of the pen and had the idea to utilize a spiral as design element on a new frame. After the first sketches and experiments it all came up to the classic panto shape with no nasal bridge. Because of the missing nasal bridge the roundings and curves of the glasses can develop their look optimally on both sides. The design process created a timeless piece with a minimalist look paired with retro-charm and industrial style. The temples are tapered with teardrop-shaped ends and represent a nice counterweight in optical and physical form. This ensures a nice and comfortable fit with strong hold and no pressure. The „Himmelgeist“ design creates a coolness-factor for an individual and casual look you can wear everyday. The design is unisex and makes the “Himmelgeist“ the perfect companion for any gender.
D'dorf - RheinuferDÜSSELDORF EYEWEAR
The model “Rheinufer“ by DÜSSELDORF EYEWEAR is a very extravagant and stylish accessory which is a real fashion statement thanks to its diamond shaped glasses. The design is very feminine, minimalistic and tender but fully in focus. The straight bridge builds a nice contrast to the curved glasses. The design protected “Wire-Loop“ is used as temples which accentuates the design by its line management and ensures a very light and comfortable fit. Made of full titanium the “Rheinufer“ is very durable and also completely antiallergenic and skin-friendly because of the use of nickel free titanium. In addition to the classic variant in gold with grey-green glasses you can get “Rheinufer“ in many other stylish color variations. It was launched in January 2021 as one of the newest additions to the collection. To us the “Rheinufer“ is already an instant classic which could have easily been in movies like Kill-Bill or Pulp-Fiction on Uma Thurmans nose.

Proud wants to be a benchmark as a brand of sustainable acetate frames. The concept of circular economy is not incompatible with design and quality, as we see in this multicolored compostable acetate frame.
The style of these sustainable glasses does not go unnoticed in this Valencian design that aims to become a benchmark for sustainable fashion. Proud only available at independent opticians.
