Sustainable Avantgarde – Premium Eyewear “Handmade in Austria”
Established in 2016, NEUBAU EYEWEAR – a young, independent eyewear brand – is synonymous with excellent eyewear design based on a sustainable brand philosophy. With its headquarters in Linz, the Austrian label combines its sense for fashion trends with the expertise in the production of comfortable premium eyewear with the highest design and sustainability standards. Inspired by creative hubs around the world and the name-giving artist quarter “Neubau” in Vienna, the young label is regarded as a pioneer in sustainable aesthetics and the use of innovative technologies and materials. With the vision “Changing the Perspective”, the eyewear label describes its clear attitude: With the claim to constantly question the status quo and to set new impulses, for NEUBAU EYEWEAR the passion for premium fashion goes hand in hand with the awareness for a respectful treatment of nature.
With a unique aesthetic style, each of NEUBAU EYEWEAR’s creations tell their very own story, always with the highest quality standards and dynamic technological innovation. The guiding principle “Sustainable Avantgarde” describes the brand’s idealism, which is reflected in the bold designs, unmistakable colour palettes and avantgarde elements.
Alongside extravagant design, progressive solutions such as sustainable materials in the form of bio-based polymers are always at the focus. By using naturalPX – extracted from the high-quality oil of the castor oil plant – NEUBAU EYEWEAR is already demonstrating its expertise in the use of natural materials. Since 2020, NEUBAU EYEWEAR has gone one step further by using the entirely bio-based material natural3D and is the first European brand to produce completely sustainable eyewear using the 3D printing process. A production procedure that is regarded as particularly resource-efficient thanks to the no-waste method. The material natural3D has already won the Green Good Design Award. Furthermore, at NEUBAU EYEWEAR, the use of materials like stainless steel or high-quality titanium is always subject to strict quality requirements.
The label also demands the highest sustainability standards at its local production facility which is located in a water conservation area in Linz. These are reliably fulfilled by renewable and solar energy and the filtering of waste air and water.
In 2018, 2019 and 2020, the label was not only presented with The Green Good Design Award for its product design, sustainability, brand philosophy and image, but has also impressed the judges of the Red Dot Award, the German Design Award and the iF Award on a number of occasions.

The fourth and final installment of this year’s “Changing the Perspective” collection theme by premium Austrian eyewear label NEUBAU is inspired by the physical properties of the Earth and the changing color tones of the introspective autumn season. Made entirely from the brand’s own specially developed material natural3D, the optical frames from the Earth collection boast a timeless color palette with a matte finish.
