HOW VASUMA WAS BORN
Vasuma eyewear was created by three friends in 2005. Jan Vana, Lars Malmsten and Steffen Sundelius set out to create an alternative eyewear brand to challenge the traditional label brands. Offering eyewear inspired from the best of the vintage eras of the 50s and 60s spiced with a modern twist. All mixed in the blender together with inspiration from popular culture to create eyewear that enhances the wearer’s own identity and personality.
Eyewear is based in the old town of Stockholm. Warehouse, show-room and office all fits in the four storeys high 15th century townhouse just a block away from the swedish royal castle.
Vasuma eyewear consists of a collection unisex spectacles and sunglasses. As a tribute to everyone who has ever been bullied for his or her visual defect and been called ”glasögonorm” (the swedish term for ”four eyes” and also the actual swedish name for the spectacled cobra snake), we have chosen to name our models after snakes. In short, Vasuma is the revenge of the glasögonorm”.
Sweden is a very creative country with lots of talent. Every season Vasuma pairs up with another brand to collaborate and share thoughts and visions to create something spectacular.
There's been a couple of collaborations over the years; Save the Children Foundation, Daniel Adams Ray (artist), Sandqvist (swedish bag brand), Carin Wester (swedish fashion brand), Deadwood Leather (swedish leather brand).
Proud eyewear, the brand of compostable frames that makes you feel good on the inside, because you know that you are doing things well for yourself and for everyone; and on the outside because with its design you will not leave anyone indifferent.
Proud wants to be a benchmark as a brand of sustainable acetate frames. The concept of circular economy is not incompatible with design and quality, as we see in this multicolored compostable acetate frame.
The style of these sustainable glasses does not go unnoticed in this Valencian design that aims to become a benchmark for sustainable fashion. Proud only available at independent opticians.
We are very sorry, but we don't have an unsustainable line.
Eyewear was born in the Jura valleys from a unique know-how.
It was in this valley that the designer eyewear company OxibisGroup was founded 30 years ago by Daniel Arnaud and Jérôme Colin, two local boys.
Design, sales teams, finishing, shipping, logistics, after-sales service, support...
Almost 100 employees work every day to create original eyewear, and to provide you with all the necessary quality and service.
Since its launch in 1992, the OxibisGroup has chosen to be independent and be at the forefront of the eyewear industry.
Four designers just for your beautiful eyes.
Passionate, perfectly free in their creation, they are attentive to the needs of wearers as well as to world trends.
Eyewear becomes a real object of personality and value.
Colour sets it free. Its architecture is more daring, original and tasteful.
Right from the start Colibris has specialized in the design of eyeglasses for petite faces. Our vision is to make frames wearable even for narrow faces.
In doing so, we orient ourselves on the golden cut of the face and pay attention to a comfortable fit and comfort. In the meantime, we are able to look on more than 20 years of experience and we are very delighted that thsi multifarious collection has grown from a small iedea in the beginning.
We are a fmily owned company near to Lübeck in the northern part of our country. And just like us, our acetate frames are handmade in Germany too, while our stainless steel models are handmade in Italy.
The focus of the current collection is on clarity, straightforwardness and ease. This is reflected by delicate acetate finishes, light acetate metal combinations or filigree titanium and stainless steel mountings.
