New to Australia was the inaugural SILMO Sydney, open over three days from Thursday to Saturday offering an exciting new opportunity for Australia’s optical industry.
Staged at the brand new International Convention Centre Sydney, the exhibition aimed at connecting quality buyers with the leading optical suppliers in a range of categories.
On offer to attendees were a number of education sessions which aimed to provide visitors with the knowledge that could be implemented into their businesses to improve their own success, such as presentations by GfK on the future trends of the optical industry and a mix of presentations in the National Independent Retailer’s Conference on everything from social media to workplace productivity.
The SILMO Mega Rox Party was held on the Saturday night to visitors and exhibitors alike, offering a chance to simply relax, unwind and network with others
within the industry.
While the visitor attendance numbers were lower than anticipated it is evident that visitors who did attend were high quality, with over 65% of attendees making purchases at the show and 85% indicating they will purchase from exhibitors post show.
