THE SOPHISTICATED STYLE OF BORBONESE

Borbonese, the historic bag and accessory brand that symbolises Italian luxury, has entered the world of eyewear in conjunction with Italy’s Jet Set Group, making its Silmo debut with a new collection of optical frames and sunglasses. The highly refined glasses present bold shapes combining steel, titanium, leather and more, crafted in a contemporary style using traditional techniques.

A SOLID GOLD CHOPARD MEN’S COLLECTION

Italian brand De Rigo chose Silmo as the platform to announce Chopard’s first 18-carat «Solid Gold» collection, a perfect fit for the jeweller’s style and reputation. The two men’s eyewear models are recognisable by their subtle, sophisticated engraving inspired by Chopard’s Classic Racing range, as well as buffalo horn end-tips on the acetate arms.

AN EXCEPTIONAL MATERIAL FOR GOLD & WOOD

In Japan, washi literally means «Japanese paper», a material that has been hand-crafted in the country since the 7th century. The paper, made from long intertwined mulberry fibres, is lightweight, flexible and sturdy. Luxembourg eyewear brand Gold & Wood has used this art paper to create «Washiwood», an exceptional material in which long paper fibres are blended with precious wood varieties.
The result is unique frames whose colours and patterns resemble the delicate transparency of stained glass.

PURE GOLD SPARKLES AT LUNOR

German brand Lunor has a reputation for precious eyewear that is beautifully crafted using traditional techniques, and for its use of gold, the material that gives the brand its name. Lunor comes from the French Lunette d’Or or Golden Eyewear. At Silmo the brand presented the unisex G1 model, a tribute to its history featuring a pantosshaped frame made of 20.395 g of pure 18-carat gold for truly timeless, luxurious eyewear.

THEO EYEWEAR’S PRECIOUS «HALF AND HALF» EYEWEAR

Theo Eyewear, the inventive Belgian brand with a sense of humour, has created a new «limited edition for unlimited sparkle». This «half and half» concept is introduced in Mille+50, three men’s and women’s optical models with a unique feature: they are composed of two precious materials, palladium and 24-carat gold. Luxury and design are guaranteed!

THIERRY LASRY’S FIRST OPTICAL COLLECTION

When the brand was launched in late 2006, Thierry Lasry was determined to offer a creative selection of high-end eyewear that celebrated the industry’s craftsmanship and cutting-edge technical expertise. At last year’s Silmo the designer presented his first optical collection, made from titanium and acetate and featuring some extremely glamorous shapes. «I realised there was a need for comfortable backup prescription frames.
I wanted to work on a sort of ideal optical wardrobe that perhaps meets a selfish need to find the kind of product that I’d like to see on the market», he explained.

VANNI REWORKS THE CLASSICS

The Italian brand Vanni (Nico Design), which has built a reputation for its mastery of acetate colours, has reworked some classic eyewear looks: timeless, emblematic shapes, colours and styles that have marked the evolution of design over the past few decades, updated with contemporary materials and finishes, multi-layer acetates and ultra-fine steel crafted with a balanced, ethereal aesthetic.

NEW SHAPES AND LINES FOR FROD’S LUNETTERIE

Since 2011, Frod’s Lunetterie has been promoting its eco-citizen concept with frames whose French origin is attested by their OFG (Guaranteed French Origin) certificate. The family of products is growing with new combination models whose design captures the spirit of the moment.

AIRDP BY AIREYEWEAR AT THE CUTTING EDGE

The new collection of combination frames from AirDP by AirEyeWear (Italy) is at the cutting-edge in terms of style and aesthetics. The collection’s strength lies in the choice of materials: biomedical steel and Ultem, a gold-coloured fireproof thermoplastic mainly used in the aeronautical industry. These materials are crafted into creative, designer shapes to create cutting-edge eyewear with silver photochromic mirror lenses for a bold look.

ROLF SPECTACLES CONTINUES TO DRAW INSPIRATION FROM NATURE

Austrian brand Rolf Spectacles presented new combinations of wood «with a twist». The meticulously selected wood veneers are delicately sliced and combined to reveal a tree’s characteristic growth rings. The veneers are obtained by cutting across the trunk rather than lengthwise so that the growth rings become decorative circles, a testimony to the authenticity and uniqueness of every frame.

PRODESIGN DENMARK ADDS A TWIST TO ITS FRAMES

With its new «Iris Collection» concept, Danish brand Prodesign Denmark (Design Eyewear Group) has developed a style that combines simplicity with sophistication: feminine Cat-Eye titanium frames whose ethereal look incorporates jewellery-style twisted arms.

THE SPIRIT OF GLACIERS BY REZIN

The young, environmentally friendly French brand has reinvented the eternal «glacier» frame. Aimed at the most hardened mountain trekkers, the «Houston» model features an ebony structure with cowhide side shields, narrow metal arms and Carl Zeiss polarised lenses. Highly protective, stylish sunglasses.

ELEGANT, SIMPLE LINES FOR TONYSAME:

The new titanium optical collection from Japanese eyewear manufacturer Tonysame was unveiled at Silmo. With it, the brand affirms its philosophy, combining subtlety of design with simplicity of lines, rigorous materials selection and authentic aesthetic research.

ROAV’S FLAT, FOLDING SUNGLASSES

Californian brand Roav (Alizé Optique Distribution) presented its innovative range of folding sunglasses that are ultralight (15 g) and ultra slim (8 mm thick when folded). They are made from stainless steel and come in a compact silicon case, perfect for slipping into a pocket.

THE EXTREME FLEXIBILITY OF SALT X AETHER

Californian eyewear designer Salt again joins forces with lifestyle accessory brand Aether to create a new sunglasses model. Following the Scout aimed at bikers, the two companies have now developed the Voyage, a pair of universal sunglasses recognisable by narrow side shields (like the Scout), but whose distinctive feature is the incredible elasticity of the design, which guarantees sturdiness and comfort.

CLIPOPTIC, SPORT IN PLAIN SIGHT

Clipoptic, an innovative French company and a revolutionary product, is a patented universal insert for all masks (ski, motorcycle, diving, safety, breathing). It adapts to all face shapes with various sizes of unisex, unbreakable bars, bridges and lenses. The ideal frame for all sports lovers.
