Silmo Academy supports for a research project in the field of optics and vision science

Since 2010, Silmo Academy has set itself the goal of supporting professionals working in ophthalmic optics in their quest for excellence by proposing workshops and a scientific symposium where they can enhance their knowledge and share ideas with experts from every field.
In 2016, Silmo Academy has chosen to support a research project in the field of optics and vision science. It is offering a €10,000 grant for a project submitted by an individual researcher or research team, with the winning project selected by the scientific committee.

Eligibility criteria

You must be leading a research project specifically in the field of optics and vision science
You must be an EU national

Terms and conditions of entry

By no later than 6 September 2016, applicants must submit the following:
- Resume
- Full presentation of the project
- Methodology
- Resources already available (sponsor, internship supervisor, grants secured etc.)
- Resources still required in order to successfully complete their project

Timetable and selection process

Until 6 September: project applications received
Between 6 and 16 September: selection of the three best projects by the Scientific Committee.
Between 20 and 23 September: oral presentation of selected projects by applicants.
26 September: winning project announced and presented during the Silmo Academy symposium.
